Patola Vegetable

I woke up early in the morning and I saw the vegetable vendor in our place. They have much peddling vegetables like sitaw, okra, kalabasa/squash, eggplant and luffa or patola in tagalog. The vegetables are fresh and fatty. And I bought 1 piece of luffa or patola for the cost of 12 pesos only. My favorite menu for patola is ginisa with misua.

Patola is vegetable with plenty of health benefits like unripe fruit is a good source of calcium, iron and phosphorus. It was considered a fair of vitamin B. Aside from the vegetable patola is used as sponge if it is dried. Some manufacturers used patola as the main material in making sponge of bath scrub. The rough texture of dried patola fruit when wiped with bath soap is enough to scrub the body’s dirt and clods.

You can see the cotton candy during fiesta in the carnival or in the street. There are many flavors, including strawberry, lemonade, blueberry, lime, grape, orange, watermelon, pineapple mango, and many more. Although the latter is made with flour and water in addition to sugar. The food coloring can be used to change the natural white color.

I bought one piece of cotton candy for Vince because while we going home, he saw the cotton candy on the road. And then he asked me to buy one for him. That time is fiesta in Lucena and the pedantic (peryante) in Lucena have many stores along the street or in the road. I took a photo while he eaten the cotton candy inside the car.

Because I don’t know what is our snack or merienda that time, I tried to cook this food. I also put the pasta in the casserole, then boiled for 15-20 minutes with 2tablespoon of olive oil, after that I also transferred to the sink casserole. The procedure that I prepared is I also sautéed in olive oil the garlic, onion, pepper, salt, and then I also add the hotdog and tuna flakes in oil. Isaw street foods

Because today is summer, they have many street vendors you seen in the street, like isaw vendor, halohalo vendors, palamig vendors and a lot more. All of this is very popular in the Philippines specially isaw. Isaw is a street food from the Philippines; it’s made from barbecue pig or chicken intestines. The intestines are cleaned, turned inside out, and cleaned again, repeating the process several times. Aside from the intestines they have a skin or taba ng baboy, dugo and chicken heads (ulo ng manok). They are then either boiled, then grilled, or immediately grilled on sticks. They are usually dipped in vinegar with onions, peppers, and other spices then eaten. They are usually sold by vendors on the street corners in afternoons.

Because my neighbor is a vendor of isaw, I also bought her every afternoon because I like the taste of her sauce and suka or vinegar. The one stick of isaw (intestines) is cost of 5 pesos only, taba is 10, heads of chicken is 10, blood (dugo) is 5 only and hotdog is cost of 12 pesos. My neighbors have many costumers just because of the good taste of sauce and vinegar because this is the one important in isaw foods. And today I seen her additional products they have fried rice. My hubby tried to bought taba and hotdog with fried rice. Actually this is our dinner time hehe, so success. I know some of you are like to eat isaw because this is very affordable and have a good taste.
