The Higante’s

The Higante’s is tradition of Angono’s began last century. It gives joyous fiesta in honor of San Clemente whose image, resplendent in papal investment, is borne by male devotees during a procession accompanied by parehadoras devotees dressed in colorful local costumes, wooden shoes and carrying boat paddles and higantes, giant paper mache effigies. The street event culminates in fluvial procession at the Laguna de Bay amidst revelry that continues until the image is brought back to its sanctuary.

Higante’s is a Philippines tradition, during fiesta it gives more fun and enjoyment to all especially when the higante’s parade, because it is a part of the Filipino culture. Anyhow, the photo below is at Villa Escudero Resort in Tiaong, Quezon. We visit there last May; actually we did not feel the beautiful view of the place because that time the weather is not good and have an excessive force rain. Vince requested to me to take a photo together with the higante’s.

Our Lady of Cagsasay

The photo below was taken last June 2014 during our company celebrated the monthly general assembly at Taal, Lipa Batangas. And then we planned to go to the Our Lady of Cagsasay. This is the firs time to saw the blessed place. According to my research Cagsasay a small barangay in the town of Taal, Batangas province, a fisherman by the name of Juan Maningcad went out fishing instead of casting his net to the sea, he threw it into the nearby Pansipit River. When he pulled out his net he caught a little image of the Blessed Virgin Mary less than a foot high. Although it was soaked in water, it had a heavenly luster. Upon seeing this marvel, Juan being a pious and virtuous man prostrated himself before the image and began to pray. He picked it up and brought it home.

Anyhow, Our Lady of Caysasay is a Marian statue venerated at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay in Taal, Batangas province in the Philippines. The image depicting the Immaculate Conception is believed to be one of the oldest in the country. It was found in 1603 by a man named Juan Maningcad while casting his net in the nearby Pansipit River. The Marian apparitions in the early 17th century and documented by the church leaders is believed to be the first in the country. The miracles and healings attributed by the followers and devotees through the intercession of the Virgin of Caysasay since then, still continue to this day.

It’s also 63 meters tall and 32 have air conditioned gondolas that can occupy for 4 person each.

Anyhow, my hubby was invited to me to celebrate the valentine’s days in Tagaytay Skyranch last February 14, 2015. That time the weather is very cold and rainy. We don’t feel the good ambiance and beautiful view in this place because of the fog that covered the beautiful view of taal volcano and other good attraction. There are a lot of people that time just because of the weekdays and Valentines Day’s. Well, in a short time bonding we feel the happiness and enjoyment together with my hubby, nephew and my brother.

photo d_zps7xjchear.jpg photo e_zpsrcozu8np.jpgHere are the tips on how to go there if you came from Manila, will travel by public transportation like bus. I suggest that you go to any JAM liner which has terminal in Cubao and Taft. Ride bus that will pass by Olivarez Plaza. I suppose buses going to Nasugbu Batangas with via Tagaytay will do, but to be sure, ask the bus conductor. Tell the conductor to drop you off at Olivarez Plaza. From there you can ride Jeep that will pass sky ranch. But if you came from Quezon Province, you will travel again by public transportation like Jac liner bus or Jam Liner, and then you can stop in Turbina place, there are a lot of jeepney and you can ride complex, and then you can ride jeepney going to tagaytay skyranch. Hope this would help. Enjoy your travel :-).

Bitukang Manok in Atimonan, Quezon

Bitukang Manok is a zigzag road along the highway of Atimonan province of Quezon. It is the gateway to Bondoc Peninsula. Bondoc Peninsula is a peninsula in southern Quezon. It is also the gateway to the southern part of the country. Well, bitukang manok is a famous zigzag high-way and it was built-in the reign of former President Ferdinand Marcos.

Recently I really felt bored, I encouraged my hubby to go to Atimonan and visit Bitukang manok. From our home to bitukang manok is almost 30 minutes. My hubby agreed to go to Bitukang Manok. Anyway there were many buco vendors along the road of bitukang manok so before going to the top we bought buco juice. And then I was really nervous and shocked when I saw a motorcycle rider’s accidents. That was the first time I saw an actual accident. I want to take a photo but I haven’t courage to see him because I fell so nervous.

Anyway, after we saw the accident we continued our trip, my hubby was driving carefully and very slow because the road here is really dangerous and many accidents happened in this area. I prepared my camera and wait for something new to take photos on. But because of the accidents happened I didn’t capture the stunning view of bitukang manok. My hubby and I stayed on the top for a few minutes only. And then after that we went back to our home. Here are some photos that I captured.

Sand Dunes 4×4 Adventure in Ilocos

Sand Dunes 4×4 Adventure is one beautiful experience that I don’t miss it in Ilocos Norte. This is another interesting place in Ilocos Norte that we visit last holly week. We just tried to experience 4×4 adventures; the cost per ride is 1800 pesos for 4-5 persons only in just 30 minutes. We really exciting and feel a little bit of nervous haha. I feel that I ride in roller coaster that time, because of the thrilling ride experience.

Anyway the Sand Dunes place in Ilocos is like a desert in Dubai, and the weather condition is very hot. This place is a protected area that was furnished with landscapes creating a stunning view of creative nature. Aside from t hat it has been a shooting ground of some Hollywood and local movies such as Ang Panday, Temptation Island, Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote, Mad Max and Born on the Fourth of July. By the way after the smooth 4×4 ride we then proceed to the allotted area for sand boarding – it is a sport that uses skimboard to slide down the sand slope.

Here are some photos I took during we ride the Sand Dunes 4×4 Adventure in Ilocos Norte.

If we have a packing list to travel

Last week my family went to Ilocos Norte for holly week vacation. We are very happy to travel even though it is very far from our hometown. I say that it is very far because it’s almost 16 hours to travel. Well, during the travel we saw the peanut vendor in the sidewalk and they have many mango tree. My SIL asked the vendor if it is ok to pick some mango fruit and then the vendor was agreed. We are very happy to pick the mango fruit; I think we picked almost 10 pcs of mango. During our travel we try to eat mango but all of us forgot to bring knife or kind of seat belt cutter at MartorUSA.com. All of us feel sad because the one important to travel was forgotten; I say that it is very easy to carry, because it is small and very comfortable to use it. It’s hard to us to eat the mango with outer skin. I think if we have a packing list to travel it’s become easy to eat and aside from that we don’t forget everything. Anyway, we waited to get until we arrived.

Pagudpud Beach Resort

The summer is here again; our family went to Ilocos Norte for a short vacation and we also visit and tried to swim and experience the stunning view of Pagudpud Beach Resort. Pagudpud beach resort is one of the interesting place and popular beach in Ilocos Norte. We stayed one night at Saud Beach Resort, this is the one of the well-known beach resort in the northwest of Luzon, located at Saud Beach in Pagudpud , Ilocos Norte. It is very private with a nice beachfront and view of the Bangui Windmills at a distance. Saud beach resort in pagudpud is very nice places to stay of you are looking for a place to relax and has the most beautiful and scenic beach front view.

Anyway, our family enjoyed this place and feels the beauty and scenic front view of the resort. Well, this is our first time to visit in this resort and this is very memorable to us, because from our town it’s almost 16 hours far from there. But it‘s worth it because this is the resort that I want to visit even it is very far from our town.
